The West Lake Settlers in the Swedish Church Records
Family Names
As we can see in the images from the Swedish church records below none of the Swedish families in the West Lake Settlement were carrying the family names they were using in the United States when they lived in Sweden. In Sweden they were using patronymics. They probably adopted the family names Broberg, Lundborg and Oman in the United States. All the extracts from the Swedish church records below are compiled by me, Hans Högman, 2013.
