Distribution of Rotar per Län, Infantry, 1854

Län is a regional subdivision of Sweden and is normally translated into County in English. However, it should not be compared to the US county which is a local subdivision. Map of the Swedish Län (counties) and the county codes.

Overview - Cavalry, Part 1

The chart below shows the distribution of "rusthåll" per cavalry regiment and county. In other words where were a regiment's "rusthåll" located? If we take the Småland Hussar Regiment as an example we can see that the regiment had 250 "rusthåll" located within the county of Jönköping (Jkp län, F), 112 within the county of Kronoberg (Kbl, G) and 138 within the county of Kalmar (Klm, H), in total 500 "rusthåll".
