Rad 11 är en militär grad för personal under utbildning till officerare.
Line 11 are ranks for officers in Military Academies (trained to become
Officers). They are not yet commissioned as Officers.

Från och med den 1 juli 2000 ersätter den nya graden brigadgeneral den
tidigare Överste av första graden vad gäller nyutnämningar. Detta gäller
även Amfibiekåren (fd. Kustartilleriet) och Flygvapnet. I flottan heter
motsvarande grad Flottiljamiral.
(4) = There has been no new appointments of "Överste av
första graden" after July 1, 2000. Instead, to make the rank more international,
the new rank "Brigadgeneral" is substituting "Överste av första graden". In the
Navy the corresponding rank is called "Flottiljamiral".
Ryttmästare var fram till 1972 en
tjänstegrad för en officer vid kavalleriet motsvarande kapten vid övriga
truppslag.
Ryttmästare was until 1972 a rank within the cavalry
corresponding to captain within other units.

Från 1983 benämns allt anställt befäl för officer.
Today the non-commissioned officers are commissioned officers in the Swedish

Inom Luftvärnet och Artilleriet hade nr B tidigare titeln
Styckjunkare. Nr G
och H kallades tidigare Konstapel respektive vice konstapel i
artilleriet.
Nr B was formerly called Styckjunkare instead of Fanjunkare in the Swedish
Artillery and the Anti-Aircraft Command. Nr G and H were called Konstapel
instead of Korpral and Vice Konstapel instead of Vice Korpral in the Artillery.
The US Army also have a Command Sergeant Major with a rank above Sergeant
Major.

Kustartilleriet heter från år 2000 Amfibiekåren. Det gamla kustartilleriet med sina fasta pjäser har
ersatts av ett rörligt amfibieförband som skall kunna verka åt alla riktningar
The "Kustartilleriet" (The
Coast Artillery)
is now days (from 2000) called The Amphibious Corps.
Inom Kustartilleriet hade nr B tidigare titeln Flaggjunkare. Idag
kallas alla "B" för Fanjunkare.
Nr B used to be called Flaggjunkare instead of Flaggstyrman in the Swedish Coast
Artillery. Today it is Fanjunkare.

The US Marine Corps have similar military ranks as the US Army. Nr A is called
Master Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps.
The US Coast Guard have similar military ranks as the US Navy except
for the Fleet Admiral, which doesn't exist in the Coast Guard.

Sweden has, like most other countries, three branches of the armed forces:
An unofficial 4th branch would be the Helicopter Forces.
"Marinen" (The Marine) is a jointly term for the Navy and the Amphibious Corps in Sweden.
Units within “Svenska Marinen” (The Swedish Marine):
The Coast Artillery Services were responsible for the coastal defense and had
their own ships, coastal artillery, mining and mine sweeping duties and special
elite units for coastal warfare - commando units (Kustjägare). The Coast
Artillery is from 2000 called The Amphibious Corps and the stationary coast
artillery guns has been replaced with mobile amphibious units.
The Navy operates on open sea.
